Connecting

Communities

to the World

“There are people who make things happen, there are people who watch things happen, and there are people who wonder what happened. To be successful, you need to be a person who makes things happen.”

~ Jim Lovell, NASA astronaut on Apollo 13, Apollo 8, Gemini 7, and Gemini 12

What are the benefits of fiber-optic broadband?

Fiber optic broadband delivers the fastest, most reliable connectivity available in America to rural areas at a lower cost than cable, DSL, or satellite. This gives local communities the same networking and Internet capabilities found in larger cities. This narrows the digital divide and levels the technological playing field.

Fiber has become the 5th utility — as essential as water, sewer, electric, and gas. FTTx is a common acronym used to describe fiber to every address or building, including residences and commercial properties — even vacant land. FTTx is the foundation of becoming a Smart City/Community. FTTx adds 3.1% to property value and 8% to property rental rates, according to the Fiber Broadband Association.

What are Smart Cities/Communities?

There are three foundations of a Smart City/Community, which is defined as a municipality that incorporates information and communication technologies to:

      • Optimize City Services Delivery
      • Improve Economic Competitiveness
      • Increase Quality of Life

People will seek to live in areas which are physically safe, environmentally sustainable, and economically thriving. Talented individuals migrate to places that are most livable. In today’s hybrid work economy, high-quality, dependable bandwidth is essential. Fiber broadband delivered to every address is the key.

It’s not a matter of if, but when, FTTx will come to your community. The question is, how will your community plan and prepare so that you are able to take charge of the process and chart your own destiny.

How will broadband help my community?

The powerful benefits and advantages of municipalities becoming a Smart City, county, township, or village are many:

    • More effective, data-driven decision making
    • Enhanced citizen and government engagement
    • Safer communities
    • Reduced environmental footprint
    • Improved transportation
    • Increased digital equity
    • New economic development opportunities
    • Efficient public utilities
    • Improved infrastructure
    • Ability to attract and retain top talent to the area
    • Increased workforce engagement

Why was DeepFiber founded?

We started DeepFiber because we want to narrow the digital divide by connecting hundreds of Midwestern communities with high-speed fiber-optic broadband. Rural towns, municipalities, and county governments are regularly ignored by national carriers who have a largest to smallest business model. Smaller populations, higher implementation costs, and lower profitability put rural communities at a competitive disadvantage in bringing desirable businesses, workers, and families to their locale. We are dedicated to correcting this disparity.

Our mission is to provide a strategic roadmap for success to rural towns, municipalities, county governments, and non-profits to help their local businesses and citizens connect and compete with the world.

We are dedicated to bringing together local business leaders, government leaders, chambers of commerce, and other non-profits.
